“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” This quotation is by Eleanor Roosevelt and I love her sentiments because she encapsulates the essence of dreaming and how hopeful and beautiful dreams can be! I am a thinker and a dreamer and I am so thankful! I grew up with lazy, carefree summer days where I had nothing but time. And, it was in this free time that I learned to dream. Maybe my dreams were silly, unrealistic, outlandish, or WAY beyond my reach. But, that didn’t stop me from trying and they were MY “beautiful dreams”.

As we grow older, I think sometimes our dreams are hampered by cynicism, self-doubt, or reality. We may over-think our dreams or underestimate our dream’s potential. So often we are limited by our own beliefs and we hold ourselves back from doing what makes our hearts content. Sometimes, we share our dreams and, unfortunately, the courage to do so is only met with naysayers who convince us of all the reasons why our dreams simply won’t come true.

I love the lines from Walt Disney’s classic tale, Pinocchio. ”When you wish upon a star / Makes no difference who you are / Anything your heart desires / Will come to you”. These lines convey the point that ANYONE can dream and, in my opinion, EVERYONE should! These words also imply that of course you will dream – it’s a given. I, too, believe, that what you truly want can come your way, but you have to dare to dream! So, here is my call to action – get dreaming! Expand your dreams, consider the very notion that anything can happen, and trust in the future of your dreams!
